l'aranceto

In the characteristic Montesardo, a small fraction of the municipality of Alessano and enclosed by pieces of mighty medieval walls, stands the Orange Grove. A succession of rooms that develops around an ancient orange grove, gives life to the small village signed Acqua di Puglia. The fulcrum of the house is the water basin obtained from an ancient pre-existing cistern, positioned in the shade of the orange tree, whose thick foliage contrasts with the border wall built in carparo ashlars at the beginning of the nineteenth century. A typical Mediterranean white staircase, flanked by a flower bed full of succulent plants, leads to the upper rooms and to the splendid and sunny terrace, from which it is possible to see, on clear days, the sea and the mountains of Albania. The typically Mediterranean materials and furnishing accessories create a particular outdoor living area that revolves around a twentieth-century fireplace in Lecce stone. The courtyard is enclosed by the small renovated stable now transformed into the master bedroom characterized by a ceiling made of bamboo arelle. The high vaults in carparo stone create large rooms in the rooms of the house whose space is filled with various traditional furnishing accessories including two capasoni, or large stone containers used in ancient times as a container for wine and oil, used in the house as furnishing. L'Aranceto represents a village within a village, where you can take refuge from the hot summer days.
